What is Kinesiology?
PKP Kinesiology is a holistic way of detecting and correcting imbalances in your body’s energy. It uses the art of muscle testing or bio feedback system to find out where there is imbalance. It works with the triangle of health. The three sides of our make-up being Physical, Mental/emotional, bio-chemical/nutritional. If one side is neglected (such as not eating the right nutrients) the whole triangle looses shape. This is what occurs in our bodies and therefore causes things to spiral out of control affecting other areas of our life.
Imbalances in the body may relate to stress, injury, nutritional deficiencies, sensitivities, learning difficulties, pain, anxiety or some other cause. Any of these imbalances may be preventing you from achieving what you want in life and from feeling your very best.
Professional Kinesiology Practitioners use many different balancing techniques to enable you to release energy blocks, eliminate toxins, reduce tension and stimulate your body’s natural healing ability.
It is non-invasive and pain-free. It brings about awareness and insight as well as helping you to find solutions and resolve stress, reduce or remove pain, and allows you to move forward to achieve your full potential.

Q. What should I expect in my initial consultation?
A initial consultation takes place through which a thorough history is established and thereafter a specific goal is set in place for what you’d like to achieve from the session. Muscle testing is used in order to find energy imbalances and what specific corrections are needed to achieve this goal.
The corrections are made while related emotions are considered, awareness is gained and solutions found. By the end of the session, the previously stressful goal and emotions are no longer stressful and any pain will have subsided.
Your Kinesiologist will recommend any specific home reinforcement. You will also have gained a great awareness around current and pass stressors in your life. Your body will then continue to heal and bring itself back into balance and alignment.
Q. What does kinesiology mean?
Kinesiology is the study of muscle movement and how they co-ordinate the body. By using muscle monitoring or bio feedback a practitioner can identify energy imbalances in the body that may be causing health issues. PKP Kinesiology looks at the mental/emotional, physical, bio-chemical and nutritional health of the individual.
Q. What is balance?
This is the term used for a kinesiology appointment and relates to the balancing of energy and release of energy blockages.
Q. What 'corrections' are used during a kinesiology balance?
Professional Kinesiology Practitioners are trained in and use many different techniques as corrections, some of which have been adapted from Applied Kinesiology, acupuncture and chiropractic theories. We also use colour, sound, nutrition, brain integration exercises and much more. In addition, we consider stressful emotions relating to the problem, and we look at diet and lifestyle and any other changes a person may need to make.
Q. What does muscle-testing involve?
We use muscle testing /bio-feedback system which detects various forms of stress from the central nervous system.
The muscle responds by either staying strong or weakening. The test relates to energy flow, rather than to the strength of the muscle.
Q. Is kinesiology a form of medical treatment?
No. We do not diagnose, treat or work with named diseases. We balance the body’s energy, thus promoting its own healing abilities.
With kinesiology, we are looking at how the person would like to feel or what they would like to achieve. Regardless of what the person's problem is we consider how the person is being held back, how their pain can be reduced and what they need to support them. This includes emotional aspects as well as the person's lifestyle and diet.
Q. How many appointments will I need?
It varies enormously depending on the person and what the problem is. I recommend three sessions to deal with a particular issue but then you may like to have further balances for other stressful aspects of your life. The body knows when the next session is needed in relation to an issue so it can be tested at the end of your treatment.
